Breed Societies

The three Suffolk Horse societies are listed below:

The Suffolk Horse Society, UK

The oldest of the Suffolk Horse societies, and keeper of the UK Stud Book.

The American Suffolk Horse Association

The North American society, and keeper of the North American Stud Book. Suffolk horses were first imported to Canada in 1865 and to the United States in 1880. There are between 800 and 1200 Suffolks in North America.

The Australasian Suffolk Punch Society

Formed in 2008 this society represents owners and breeders in Australia and New Zealand. Australasian breeders register their horses of English descent with the UK and if they are of American descent they would be eligible for registration with the AHSA. Currently there is no Australian Suffolk Stud Book.
